I was signed up for Hugh's art class by my sister. It became one of the simplest and yet rewarding evenings that I have ever had. Hugh's style and manner is so calm and informative that you immediately feel comfortable and capable in his hands
Not only did I pick up the fundamentals of watercolour technique, I had the opportunity to produce a painting I am proud to have hanging in my house. This painting has become an everlasting memory of a day I treasure and a story of art initiation I love to tell.
Whatever your interests in life, a class with Hugh is a memory well worth having.

Hugh provided two days of watercolour painting in school. The feedback from pupils and staff has been overwhelmingly positive. There is no doubt that this was a very valuable experience for the pupils as well as the teachers.

Hugh spent two days teaching Years 7 to 10 how to paint landscapes and flowers. The paintings were then made into greetings cards and also displayed around the school, even our teaching assistants discovered their inner artist.

I didn't know anything about watercolour painting before. I learnt from you that it is ok to make mistakes because that helps me to learn. I think my Mum is going to put my painting in a frame because she thought it was so good.

My painting was magical and mystical - like a dream world. I wanted to jump into the picture.

I showed my mum my painting and she said that it was the best piece of art work that had ever been made. I went and bought some tubes of watercolour paint and had loads of fun using them on Sunday afternoon.
Frances
I really enjoyed having an artist in class. You are great at art and a very kind person.
